JOB TITLE: Research Technician III
DUTIES:
Support preclinical and translational research on the use of stem cell transplantation for the treatment of serious blood diseases, using a variety of cutting-edge cellular and molecular techniques to study murine and human immune responses. Help develop and oversee the day-to-day running of a clinical sample repository with senior graduate laboratory members. Contribute to multiple projects studying stem cell transplantation, with the ultimate aim to generate testable therapeutic interventions that attenuate graft-versus-host disease and improve leukemia and pathogen-specific effects after transplantation. Duties will include the following:
- Preparation and maintenance of regulatory documents;
- Development and oversight of a large clinical sample “Core” repository that will serve as a central facility for a number of clinical trials;
- Undertaking flow cytometry within the laboratory with an emphasis on cytokine analysis;
- Oversight of laboratory reagents, stocks, media, and maintenance of appropriate levels of laboratory supplies; and
- Help with murine stem cell transplants and therapeutics in mice, monitoring of animal well-being when needed.
REQUIRES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Biology, or related field, or the foreign degree equivalent; and,
- Five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate laboratory experience involving animal husbandry and clinical sample analysis, including:
- 3 years of experience with bone marrow transplantation in animal models, including tissue collection, harvesting, and analysis, including two years with mice.
- 2 years of experience with human clinical sample handling and repository oversight, including processing, analysis and cataloguing.
- 2 years of experience with laboratory management of human and mouse research.
- 2 years of experience with multicolor flow cytometry.
- 2 years of experience with maintaining detailed laboratory records.
- 1 year of experience with cell culture.
- 6 months of experience with cytokine analysis in mouse and humans.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
SALARY: The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172.00 to $104,249.60 and the pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
