REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or related discipline
- Experience supporting system integration, validation, and engineering analysis
- Strong understanding of system performance and troubleshooting
- DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (IAT Level II required)
- One or more cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud) a plus
- Experience supporting federal or defense programs
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems and distributed architectures
- Experience working in high-security or classified environments
- Experience with system monitoring and performance optimization tools
- Ability to operate within engineering and research-focused environments
We are seeking a Research Systems Engineer to support cloud engineering, system integration, and analysis activities within a federal program.
This role focuses on ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of cloud-based systems and distributed environments. The position supports engineering analysis, system integration, and performance optimization across enterprise cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the stability and sustainability of cloud-based systems and distributed environments
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities
- Conduct functional analysis, timeline analysis, and engineering trade studies
- Support requirements allocation and interface definition for hardware and software systems
- Develop proactive engineering solutions to monitor and manage distributed systems
- Analyze system performance, functionality, and configuration issues
- Utilize trends and system metrics to improve performance and reliability
- Collaborate with engineering and cloud teams to support system optimization and integration
- Develop technical solutions to engineering challenges across cloud environments
- Perform system integration, verification, and validation activities
