Seeking a detail-oriented Removable Dental Technician to join our laboratory team. The successful candidate will fabricate, finish, and quality-check removable prostheses, ensuring restorations meet clinical specifications for fit, function, and esthetics. This role requires strong technical skills, adherence to laboratory protocols, and effective communication with clinicians and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate removable prostheses including complete dentures, partial dentures (including cast frameworks), immediate dentures, relines, repairs, and overdentures according to prescriptions and laboratory protocols.
- Prepare diagnostic and working models, perform wax-ups, flasking, packing, polymerization, finishing, and polishing to produce high-quality restorations.
- Perform final quality control checks on fit, occlusion, esthetics, and finish prior to shipment.
- Interpret laboratory prescriptions and communicate with dentists/clinicians to clarify case requirements and material selections.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and job tracking within the laboratory management system.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and tools in accordance with safety and infection-control procedures.
- Participate in digital workflows as applicable, including scanning, CAD design, and CAM processes for removable prosthetics.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians and support continuous improvement of departmental workflows and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited dental laboratory technician program or equivalent on-the-job experience in removable prosthetics.
- Proven experience fabricating removable restorations (partial and complete dentures) in a dental laboratory setting.
- Proficiency with common laboratory techniques and materials used in removable prosthetics (acrylics, thermoplastics, denture teeth, casting for frameworks).
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and visual acuity for fine finishing and occlusal adjustment.
- Ability to read and follow laboratory prescriptions, technical drawings, and clinician instructions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for liaison with clinicians and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with digital tools and software used in dental laboratories (e.g., intraoral/desktop scanners, Exocad/3Shape, CAD/CAM processing).
- Experience with implant-retained removable prostheses and overdenture attachments.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment with strong productivity and quality focus.
