Job Title: Remote: ESG Manager
Location: Remote
Type: 6-9 month Contract
Compensation: $60 per hour
Hours: Flexible and PT 3 days a week can be considered

Overview:
A global medical device company is seeking an ESG Manager for a 6- to 9-month temporary role. This is a unique opportunity to support impactful sustainability initiatives. The successful candidate will ensure the continuity of our sustainability strategy, compliance, and reporting, while also bringing new ideas and enthusiasm to ongoing projects. This role provides visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence our global sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of a sustainability strategy and multi-year roadmap. Work will focus on areas such as decarbonization, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, performance measurement, reporting, and verification.
  • Participate in ongoing work to ensure compliance with regional, national, and state-level regulations, with a primary focus on the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes.
  • Build working relationships across the company with customer-facing business units, human resources, finance, regulatory, procurement, and corporate communications to support strategy implementation.
  • Project manages key initiatives to ensure the business delivers against sustainability commitments and compliance deadlines.
  • Support engagement with our supply chains and key partners on sustainability and carry out supply chain due diligence as and when needed.
  • Contribute to employee engagement efforts, including multi-platform global sustainability education and communication.
  • Maintain a broad understanding and awareness of emerging sustainability trends and best practices.
  • Respond to sustainability surveys, inquiries, and customer requests, including platforms such as Ecovadi.s


Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in a technical environmental field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prefer master’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, MBA, Education, Management, Science, Environmental Studies.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in related roles.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and enthusiasm for working in sustainability or related fields is essential.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of corporate sustainability, including knowledge of environmental, social, governance and regulatory issues.
  • Measurement, reporting and verification in topics including but not limited to greenhouse gas accounting, Science Based Targets, CSRD and community investment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and effectively champion a position within multiple competing priorities.
  • Skilled in achieving goals through influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to perform quantitative tasks with speed and accuracy, including collection, management, analysis, and visualization of data, including the use of AI tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management.
