Position Summary
Athra Systems is seeking an experienced Provider Recruiter with a strong background in behavioral health provider recruitment to support our continued growth across multiple markets. This is a remote, recruiting role responsible for full-cycle recruitment of psychiatric providers, including Psychiatrists (MD/DO), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), and Physician Assistants (PAs).
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple requisitions, and partnering closely with operations, clinical leadership, and credentialing to ensure a smooth hiring and onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Provider Recruitment
- Manage end-to-end recruiting for behavioral health providers, including psychiatrists, PMHNPs, and physician assistants.
- Conduct proactive sourcing using job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, and targeted outreach strategies.
- Screen candidates for clinical experience, licensure eligibility, schedule fit, and culture alignment.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with HR, clinical and operational leadership.
- Maintain strong candidate engagement throughout the recruitment lifecycle to reduce drop-off and improve acceptance rates.
Provider Pipeline Development
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified behavioral health providers for current and future needs.
- Develop recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill positions across multiple states.
- Leverage market insights to recommend compensation ranges, staffing models, and candidate attraction strategies.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate candidate tracking and recruiting activity documentation in internal systems and spreadsheets.
- Monitor recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, pipeline volume, outreach response rates, and offer acceptance.
- Provide weekly updates to leadership on open requisitions and pipeline status.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of recruiting experience with at least 1 year focused on behavioral health providers (psychiatrists, PMHNPs, PAs, or similar).
- Proven success recruiting licensed providers in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.
- Strong knowledge of licensure considerations and onboarding workflows for clinical providers.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and personable approach.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
- Comfort working remotely and independently while staying highly responsive and accountable.
Preferred
- Experience recruiting for inpatient behavioral health, addiction medicine, detox, acute care, or hospital-based environments.
- Familiarity with credentialing timelines, payer enrollment, and compliance requirements.
- ATS experience and strong proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets for tracking and reporting.
- Ability to support high-volume growth and rapid hiring needs.
