Companion Animal Hospital is growing and has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for skilled, outgoing technicians who want to fully utilize their education and expertise while making meaningful connections with clients and their pets. We are seeking candidates with prior dental experience, and we welcome those who are eager to expand their skillset through hands-on learning and mentorship in a supportive, collaborative environment.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide excellent patient care during surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, patient preparation and recovery, as well as dental prophylaxis, radiographs, and extractions.
  • Conduct technician appointments, delivering treatments, collecting patient histories, and ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for both patients and clients.
  • Ensure efficient exam room workflow while maintaining clear, compassionate, and professional client communication.
  • Review treatment plans, provide thorough discharge instructions, and confidently answer client questions with empathy and clarity.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition or client concerns and promptly elevate to the DVM as needed to support high-quality medical decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with your team to carry out the veterinarian's orders during outpatient visits, ensuring the highest standard of care.


Schedule:

This is a flexible full-time or part-time position with 8-hour shifts and availability needed Monday through Friday and for rotating Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:
  • Compensation: $25-30 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Bonus package: $2000
  • CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure

Required qualifications and skill set:
  • Current Registered Veterinary Technician License in the state of California
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Knowledge of common medications and dosage calculations
    • Venipuncture and cystocentesis
    • Placing IV catheters and administering injections
    • Radiology positioning and technique
    • In house laboratory processing including microscopy
    • Anesthetic induction, intubation and monitoring
    • Dental experience is highly desired!
