Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Registered Nurse / Teachers Assistant. In this role you will act as both the RN AND TA. In this role the RN will provide 1:1 support to an assigned elementary student (Kindergarten–1st grade) within a classroom setting. Responsibilities include assisting with medical needs such as tube feeding, toileting, and monitoring/responding to seizures to that specific student. When you're not providing direct student care, you will support the classroom teacher with general instructional and classroom duties. Follow a standard school-day schedule, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch. RN and TA RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide basic care for students when they are injured ill, and manage chronic conditions
- Oversee the school's medication administration program
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as hygiene and proper nutrition
- Work with school staff to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the school community
- Support the classroom teacher with daily activities
- Assist students with assignments, managing classroom materials, reinforcing instructions
REGISTERED NURSE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- Experience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred
- Must pass background check and any required school district clearances
- Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system
