This role supports the Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Intensive Care, and Intermediate Care units. You'll collaborate with nursing leadership, preceptors, and interdisciplinary partners to design and deliver education, maintain clinical standards, and support staff competency. This position blends clinical expertise, staff development, and hands‑on support in a dynamic, high‑acuity environment.

 

How you'll contribute

A Nurse Manager/Educator who excels in this role:

  • Develops and implements annual education plans based on staff needs, patient care trends, and regulatory requirements
  • Designs and delivers orientation, in‑services, and continuing education programs
  • Serves as a clinical resource for nursing practice, patient education, and problem‑solving
  • Evaluates and updates educational materials, resources, and competency tools
  • Participates in policy and procedure development, product evaluation, and quality initiatives
  • Assesses patient care outcomes and collaborates with teams to improve care processes
  • Supports staff through coaching, real‑time training, and performance development
  • Ensures accurate, timely documentation and adherence to clinical standards
  • Assists with staffing activities, hiring, evaluations, and productivity monitoring
  • Maintains clinical competence and participates in ongoing professional development
  • Supports performance improvement activities and participates in special projects
  • Provides leadership coverage across units and participates in leadership call rotation

What we're looking for

A compassionate, experienced nurse leader with strong clinical judgment, educational expertise, and the ability to support staff across multiple levels of care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required or in progress
  • Current NC or multistate RN license (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
  • Minimum 5 years of recent clinical experience, preferably in Intensive Care
  • Specialty certification preferred
  • Ability to support neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
  • BLS required; ACLS required or obtained within 60 days of hire
