Our ICU is a dynamic and diverse unit, specializing in trauma, surgical, medical, and cardiac care. We have 25 beds and offer flexible scheduling with 12-hour shifts available rotating both days and nights. Our team includes a dedicated unit educator and a group of experienced charge nurses. We have implemented many technologic advances to ensuring high-quality care for our patients.

 

How you'll contribute 

Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

 

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

  • Documents patient care given.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs

  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

  • Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios

What we're looking for 
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Two years of acute care experience or One year of cardiac unit experience or Greater than Six months current employment as RN in a Critical Care Unit

  • BSN, MSN Preferred

  • Current BLS/CPR certification. 

  • Current ACLS certification, Basic Dysrhythmia Course, Critical Care Course or acquire within 6 months of employment. 

  • Trauma Nurse Course current or acquire within 1 year

  • PALS certification current or acquire within 2 years. 

  • CCRN Preferred
