QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred (correctional, ER, Med-Surg, or behavioral health experience is a plus).
- Current BLS certification & ACLS required.
- Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Monitor and evaluate patient health conditions and document findings accurately.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform intake screenings, health assessments, and ongoing patient monitoring.
- Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Educate patients on health management, medications, and preventive care.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and correctional facility protocols.
