JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Registered Nurse - Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room

RN - PEDS CVOR

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Pediatric CVOR will have the following job responsibilities:

• You will evaluate patients prior to surgery
• You will provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
• You will assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• You will participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy
• You will recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• You will be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more
• You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients
• You will assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly
• You will educate patients and families/caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Registered Nurse - Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room

RN - PEDS CVOR

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Pediatric CVOR must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days
• (RN) Registered Nurse

• Associate Degree; BSN required w/6 month enrollment and 24 month completion (Magnet Hospital)
• 1+ year of recent applicable experience in an acute care setting required - PEDS experience is required
• Must have experience with patients coming out of Heart Surgery
• NICU, Mother Baby, PICU experience is a plus
