Immanuel Communities is seeking a Regional Retirement Living Consultant to support our growing Des Moines market. This role is based at Copper Shores Village in Pleasant Hill and also provides regional sales and marketing support to Deerfield and Immanuel Pathways of Central Iowa (PACE), offering the opportunity to make an impact across multiple communities and service lines.

 

This position is ideal for a relationship‑driven professional who brings a hospitality mindset, strong organizational skills, and a genuine passion for serving older adults. You’ll guide individuals and families through important life decisions, build trusted referral partnerships throughout the community, and contribute to regional occupancy and growth efforts in a supportive, mission‑focused environment.

Job Duties & Skills Required:

What You Will Do

The Regional Retirement Living Consultant contributes to the mission and vision of Immanuel to achieve or exceed occupancy goals of Immanuel Communities and PACE centers. Primary responsibilities of this position is to identify opportunities to grow revenue and financial performance of assigned communities and PACE centers through exceptional sales and marketing, onboarding new sales staff in the geographic market, and provide ongoing training. The Regional Retirement Living Consultant will also participate in building and strengthening awareness of Immanuel communities. (See below for Key responsibilities and duties of the job in more detail.)

 

This position reports directly to the Director of Sales and is responsible for devoting 75% of their time to servicing their assigned community and 25% of their time to regional duties, all with the aim of achieving occupancy goals.

 

Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public relations, or a related field is required.

Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for education requirement.

Five (5)) years of experience as a Retirement Living Consultant in the Metropolitan Omaha, Lincoln or Des Moines areas preferred.   

Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.

Must have reliable means of transportation.

Must have the ability to travel between all Immanuel Communities. Some situations may require an overnight stay.

 

 

Key Areas

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Sales Process

  • Collaborate with Executive Directors and RLCs to develop and implement an effective Sales Action Plan for Immanuel's communities.
  • Comprehensively understand the operations and financial dynamics of PACE and Courtyard communities.
  • Analyze competitive data and other relevant information to determine pricing and promotional recommendations for the assigned communities.
  • Consult with leadership to identify how Sales and Marketing can improve occupancy.
  • Aid RLCs in tackling occupancy issues.
  • Facilitate activities that increase and sustain high occupancy levels.
  • Provide sales coverage during periods of vacation or as requested by Home Office.

Lead Referral and Sourcing

  • Transfer and refer all regional leads to community RLCs.
  • Connect with all web leads requesting a referral for a community.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to RLCs. Train and mentor sales team on building trust relationships with prospects to achieve performance goals.
  • Maintain a weekly spreadsheet of web leads and other prospects.
  • Update the sales database and ensure leads are promptly contacted by community RLCs.

Networking

Develop and establish partnerships in assigned region through networking activities.

  • Identify and nurture relationships within targeted market areas to increase awareness of services and amenities.
  • Ensure all regional RLCs are informed of networking opportunities when appropriate.
  • Connect with Immanuel PACE locations and Community leadership to determine if networking would be beneficial.
  • Monitor area competition. Stay informed of all new competition coming to the market, and keep abreast of changes and developments within an existing competitors.
  • Meet with all regional competition quarterly. Include community RLCs in meetings where appropriate.

Sales Meetings

  • Participate in RLC DEI/sales board check-ins. Meet weekly with each RLC in region to discuss occupancy levels, events and Home Office information. Provide reports of these meetings.
  • Attend sales training as a whole group twice a year.
  • Host monthly regional meetings (except for months with Home Office training). Rotate between communities within region for training and discuss what is happening with competition, networking, what is working.

Reporting

  • Complete accurate and timely reports on a weekly basis regarding current occupancy levels and factors affecting occupancy. 
  • Prepare monthly RLC/Community comparison reports referencing leads, closing ratios tours, etc. sent to Home Office.
  • Produce quarterly marketing reporting on new/changing competition for Home Office and RLCs, and any other reports as directed.

Other

  • Participate in strategic processes for evaluating new CRMs, revamping sales and marketing materials, and other items that require representation from all communities/PACE centers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
