As an integral part of the corporate quality leadership realm, this position is charged with ensuring that our diverse range of products across multiple facilities align with safety, compliance, and top-tier quality standards. The role is pivotal in cultivating a culture steeped in excellence by providing strategic leadership, mentorship, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* **Team Leadership:** Develop and enhance the effectiveness of the regional quality team. Inspire and strengthen team capabilities while cultivating strong cross-functional partnerships to influence site strategies. Foster an environment that encourages continuous quality improvements aligned with operational excellence initiatives.
* **Training & Communication:** Design and implement comprehensive training programs centered on food safety and quality standards. Engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring prompt escalation of pertinent issues related to food safety, quality, and financial concerns.
* **Goal Setting & Motivation:** Utilize frameworks such as SMART goals for setting objectives and ensuring alignment with standard procedures. Drive motivation and maintain team strength through a collaborative approach.
**System Oversight:**
* **Product Safety & Audit Management:** Oversee the regional implementation of Product Safety and Quality systems, ensuring integration with change control and commercialization operations. Lead internal audit initiatives aimed at risk reduction and proper corrective action execution.
* **Root Cause & Improvements:** Employ robust root cause analysis techniques to resolve issues and enforce engineering or systemic enhancements for prevention. Propel efforts with significant impacts on key performance metrics, including Compliance, Quality Performance, and Customer Responsiveness.
* **Collaboration for Development:** Work closely with R&D, production, and commercial teams to prepare for new launches. Quantify success probability, communicate risks, and propose solutions for first-time productions.
* **Sharing & Streamlining:** Promote best practices and seamless quality system integration across multiple sites, supporting operational excellence and preparation for customer audits.
**Qualifications:**
* Proven experience in an FDA-regulated environment, preferably within the food or dietary supplement sectors, assessing and mitigating safety and regulatory risks.
* Proficiency in applying sanitation principles and Statistical Process Control for process evaluations.
* Demonstrated project management skills with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant industry experience, with management experience.
* Acquaintance with FDA, HACCP, SQF, and best industry practices.
