A private-equity backed mechanical and facility services organization is adding a Regional Controller to lead finance for its Michigan businesses. The company has grown rapidly through organic expansion and multiple acquisitions, with a long-term plan to scale significantly in the coming years.

This position will serve as the financial leader for the Michigan region, partnering closely with operations, overseeing accounting staff, and driving profitability across project work.

Job Details

Responsibilities
  • Lead regional accounting and finance for multiple operating units
  • Oversee ~$20M in revenue at start, with runway to assume additional entities as they scale toward ~$50M
  • Spend significant time on projects: costing, labor rates, job profitability, WIP, and monthly close
  • Partner closely with operations and project managers to validate costs, labor allocations, and fully loaded job pricing
  • Oversee month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, cash management, and reporting
  • Support alignment of processes, financial systems, and acquisition integration efforts
  • Provide financial insights to the GM and leadership team to improve performance
  • Partner with HR on workforce-related inputs such as timesheets, labor allocations, and cost centers when needed

Qualifications
  • 8–10+ years progressive accounting/finance experience
  • Strong experience with project costing, labor rates, profitability, POC/WIP
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, construction/trades/field services environment
  • Strong communicator with a direct, confident style suited for field leaders
  • PE, acquisitions, or integration experience helpful but not required
