DESCRIPTION: Edmonds College Library and Learning Resources Division is seeking two (2) Reference & Instruction full-time Tenure Track Faculty Librarians who are passionate about teaching students how to critically navigate, evaluate, and use information in an evolving digital landscape.
As a reference and instruction faculty librarian, you will design and deliver engaging library instruction sessions that promote critical thinking and research skills, and work collaboratively with a team of faculty librarians in the design, delivery, and assessment of the library’s instructional program. You will provide reference and research consultations for students, faculty, and staff; partner with faculty to embed library resources into the curriculum and develop resource guides; promote library resources and services throughout the college; serve as liaison to instructional schools and college programs; and participate in the selection and evaluation of library materials within assigned collection areas to ensure resources align with the curriculum.
Other faculty responsibilities include: participating in achieving the college’s mission and goals; upholding the college’s values; college governance via department and division work; committee assignments; required professional development and college in-service activities; and personal and program evaluation.
The schedule for this position may include evening and weekend hours. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Associate Dean of Library and Learning Resources with an anticipated start date in September 2026, and will have a 9-month service period.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- ALA accredited Master’s of Library Science degree.
- Experience providing reference services across multiple platforms and modalities.
- Experience teaching information literacy concepts and adapting pedagogy to diverse learning styles.
- Proficiency with library search interfaces/discovery layers (e.g., Ex Libris Primo), academic databases, and instructional technology (e.g., LibGuides, Canvas).
- Highly effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in an academic library is preferred.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is not a remote position; the successful candidate will be expected to work on campus. Work is typically performed in library, office, and classroom settings and requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential. The ability to regularly move through the 25,000 square foot library public spaces located on two floors to ensure student needs are being met is essential to this role. Regular use of computers and other technologies in the work environment is required.
COMPENSATION:
The salary is based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education. The current range is $88,536.91 - $89,988.74 annually for a 172-day appointment, with contractually guided increases to $107,394.12. The college provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
