The Recreation & Sports Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of youth and adult sports and recreational programs. This role will help build a strong foundation for engaging, high-quality programming that promotes skill development, teamwork, healthy competition, and community connection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with planning, organizing, and delivering youth, adult, seasonal, and special event programs.
- Support the training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers.
- Help prepare and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, press releases, and social media content.
- Help to maintain and enhance the branches social media platforms as needed
- Provide customer service, including answering questions, handling registrations, facility reservations, and ticket/merchandise sales as needed.
- Attend staff, board, and community meetings related to recreation services as requested
- Lead, organize, and participate in assigned programs and activities.
- Assist with all planning, implementing and cleanup of all Special Events
- Assist with sponsorship outreach and community donations.
- Gain exposure to parks, facilities, and maintenance operations alongside Public Works staff.
- Prepare written reports, summaries, and program evaluations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, property and playing fields for all programs

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred
- One to two years related experience required
- CPR, First Aid, AED certification
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
