Recreation and Sports Coordinator - Spring Grove

The Recreation & Sports Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of youth and adult sports and recreational programs. This role will help build a strong foundation for engaging, high-quality programming that promotes skill development, teamwork, healthy competition, and community connection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist with planning, organizing, and delivering youth, adult, seasonal, and special event programs.
2. Support the training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers.
3. Help prepare and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, press releases, and social media content.
4. Help to maintain and enhance the branches social media platforms as needed
5. Provide customer service, including answering questions, handling registrations, facility reservations, and ticket/merchandise sales as needed.
6. Attend staff, board, and community meetings related to recreation services as requested
7. Lead, organize, and participate in assigned programs and activities.
8. Assist with all planning, implementing and cleanup of all Special Events
9. Assist with sponsorship outreach and community donations.
10. Gain exposure to parks, facilities, and maintenance operations alongside Public Works staff.
11. Prepare written reports, summaries, and program evaluations.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
13. Maintain equipment, supplies, property and playing fields for all programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
• YMCA Team Leader certification preferred
• One to two years related experience required
• CPR, First Aid, AED certification
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
