Suncoast Post-Tension Ltd, a Keller Company, is an established post tension and rebar manufacturing company that has been in business for over 30 years. We supply construction related materials to builders from one of our eight manufacturing facilities in the US. We are looking for an experienced Rebar and Post Tension Sales Representative to join our team in San Antonio, TX.
This role serves as a key liaison between the company and its customers, providing technical product knowledge, identifying project opportunities and delivering tailored solutions that meet customer requirements. The Sales Representative actively develops new business while maintaining and expanding existing client relationships within the commercial, residential and infrastructure construction markets. They collaborate closely with engineering, operations and project management teams to ensure accurate project specifications, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Success in this role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, the ability to interpret plans and specifications, and a proactive, results- driven approach to managing a sales territory. The role requires a high level of self-motivation, customer-focus and skill in both relationship- building and technical selling, with the ability to communicate complex post-tensioning concepts clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide quotations to existing and potential new customers using existing company pricing structures
- Overseeing billing, orders, shipping/delivery dates, repairs, bids and coordinating deliveries
- Frequent construction site visits
- Address issues or concerns from current customers
- Identify and contact potential new customers utilizing building permits, industry contacts, cold call office visits, sales meetings
- Assist AR with collections; obtain PO’s, pickup checks, contact customers for payment status
- Maintain existing Backlog and Estimating reports
- Monitor existing projects for accuracy and assist Project Managers where required in dispute resolution
- Setup of newly awarded projects into existing company databases and coordinate allocation of new works to Detailers
- Communicate monthly requirements to Branch and Plant Manager and assist in forecasting of ongoing projects and special product requirements
- Production of month end reports using existing spreadsheets and systems for tracking estimated and awarded tons per month
- Achieve minimum monthly Estimating and Jobs Won targets per your proposed business plan as set in conjunction with Branch Manager
- Conduct regular office visits to both existing and new customers to build strong long term business relationships and grow our existing customer base
- Assist Logistics to help with Hot Shot deliveries as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma required; 2-year associates Degree preferred
Required background:
- Prior commercial rebar sales is preferred
- Rebar and Concrete construction knowledge is preferred
- Must be able to read blueprints for commercial projects
- Experience in relationship building, account maintenance and outbound sales
- Ability to recognize new business opportunities
- Experience with Microsoft office suite of products is required (excel, word primarily)
- Ability to meet fast paced and dynamic schedules and deadlines
- Must be well organized, self-motivated, reliable, detail oriented, and possess excellent
- interpersonal & customer relations skills
- Excellent computer skills and written & verbal communication skills necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods of time and walk distances, as well as stoop, bend, kneel and crouch
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, reach or feel and manipulate objects or controls
- Must be able to work in loud areas and wear hearing protection when visiting manufacturing plants or job sites
Additional Information
Salary Range: $80,000+ DOE
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by law
