Quality Technician

Our Client, an AV Manufacturing company, is looking for a Quality Technician for their Foster City, CA/ Fremont/ CA location.
Responsibilities:
- Develop & maintain inspection plans and inspection instructions.
- Develop & maintain IQC (Incoming Quality Control), IPQC (In Process Quality Control), & OQC (Outgoing Quality Control) processes and procedures.
- Develop NCMR (Non-Conforming Material Reports) and quarantine instructions.
- Develop and maintain NCMR metrics, returns and quarantine material as needed.
- Movement of non-conforming material from receiving, production line into MRB and monitor inventory in quarantine.
- Hold MRB(Material Review Board) meetings with key stakeholders in order to determine disposition of on hand units in quarantine.
- Perform RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) in order to drive quality issues to resolution.
- Perform Calibration and maintain test/measurement equipment to ISO requirements.
- Perform Metrology tasks using a CMM.
- Expedite hot quality requirements and prioritize effectively.
- Inspect receiving materials by confirming product meets drawing, specifications and requirements.
- Conduct visual, functional, and mechanical measurement tests across multitudes of parts ranging from injection molding, castings, and 3D printing to PCBAs, and electrical sub-assemblies.
- Assist with sort & contaminants, and associate disposition to material accordingly.
- Maintain calibration schedules and ensure all components meet schedule needs.
- Assist in process improvement projects for the Incoming Inspection, MRB, & outgoing duties.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs and inputting data into a quality database.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 4 to 6 years of industry experience or
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with 8 to 10 years of industry experience
- Working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets
- Thorough knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentals
- Background in MRB and NCMR handling
- In depth understanding of 8D and problem solving techniques
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization skills
- Previous mechanical inspection background with ability to use basic and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.) preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using GD&T methodologies
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all departments
- Preferred understanding of AQL
- Basic understanding of PFMEA and process flowcharts
- Preferred knowledge of PC-DMIS programming
