Quality Systems and Compliance Manager
HA International - USA
Westmont, IL
Lead Our Next Chapter in Quality
Picture your week: you kick off with a plant walk-through, reviewing first-pass yield and supplier scorecards, then pivot to leading a cross-functional root-cause investigation on a customer complaint. Midweek, you host an ISO audit readiness huddle as the organization’s Management Representative and close the week by updating SafetyAmp records, closing CAPAs, and coaching teams on "Right First Time" behaviors. If that rhythm excites you, you’ll thrive here.
The Role
As our Quality Systems and Compliance Manager, you will own and continuously elevate our ISO 9001–certified Quality Management System (QMS) across internal manufacturing and tolling operations. Reporting to the Senior Continuous Improvement Manager, you’ll standardize processes, strengthen accountability, and deliver measurable improvements in product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Lead
- Maintain and advance our ISO 9001 QMS to ensure consistent application across internal sites and external tolling partners.
- Serve as the Management Representative for ISO and customer audits; drive audit readiness and timely closure of findings.
- Own SafetyAmp for document control, corrective actions, and audit records to ensure compliance, accuracy, and traceability.
- Direct root-cause investigations for customer complaints and internal nonconformances; validate CAPA effectiveness and sustainability.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D to assess toll manufacturers and raw material suppliers for adherence to specifications and process controls.
- Define and report KPIs (defect rates, customer returns, first-pass yield, supplier performance) and communicate trends to leadership.
- Design and deliver quality and ISO training to build capability across teams.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC methods to embed a proactive, prevention-first quality culture.
Who You Are
- BS in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field (MS preferred).
- 7–10 years in manufacturing quality leadership; chemicals or process industries strongly preferred.
- Track record implementing or upgrading ISO 9001 QMS in both internal and tolling environments.
- Deep expertise in root cause analysis, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, and CAPA systems.
- Analytical storyteller—able to convert data into dashboards and actionable insights.
- Influential communicator who collaborates effectively at every level.
- ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE preferred.
- Fluent with Microsoft 365 and QMS-related software.
- Travel up to 20% (including overnight) to U.S. plants and customer locations.
Work Environment
You’ll split time between office work (virtual and in person) and visits to industrial production facilities, heavy industrial customer sites, and chemical manufacturing plants across the U.S. At industrial sites, expect frequent exposure to fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and high noise. Appropriate PPE—gloves, respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety boots—must be worn as required. Inability to work safely around chemicals or use PPE may be disqualifying.
Physical Requirements
Capability to enter confined spaces, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairways, and work at heights. Extended periods of sitting and standing are typical. You must be fit for a respirator and other PPE. Work may occasionally occur in hot or cold conditions.
Reporting and Team Structure
This role reports to the Senior Continuous Improvement Manager and has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
