Salary: $100,000.00 USD Annually - $125,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve plant quality systems, including inspection/test methods, work instructions, procedures, specifications, GMPs, Food Safety Compliance, and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to quality systems and maintain product integrity across all production processes.
- Prepare and present regular quality reviews to plant and corporate leadership.
- Develop, implement, and lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting plant-wide quality performance.
- Communicate quality objectives (KPIs) to floor personnel and promote processes that drive compliance and higher performance.
- Act as the primary external customer contact for quality-related issues and technical support.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA/CAPA) investigations for customer complaints and internal nonconformances.
- Audit the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Drive supplier improvement initiatives and manage coating/mill supplier defective material claims.
- Analyze production and quality data to disposition finished goods and determine product acceptability.
- Ensure proper management of the HFI (Hold for Inspection) system, including balance, disposition, rework, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with Commercial, Product Development, and Engineering teams on new business, product trials, and process changes.
- Work closely with Human Resources on personnel issues and the management of plant staff.
- Partner with corporate quality teams and collaborate with other facilities within the organization.
- Provide direct supervision to quality personnel (team size varies by location).
- Educate and train supervisors, department leads, and production staff on quality methods, process improvements, and GMPs.
- Ensure plant adherence to established operational principles and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience.
- At least 4 years of quality experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems outside of standard procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience implementing quality or process improvement methods in can manufacturing or similar high-volume process environments.
- Experience leading self-directed work teams.
