Job Title: 3rd Shift Quality Inspector
Shift: 3rd Shift – Monday–Friday
• Sunday night: 1:00 AM – 8:30 AM
• Monday night–Friday morning: 11:30 PM – 8:30 AM
• Overtime and weekend work as required
Position Summary:
The 3rd Shift Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations through data collection, process control monitoring, and collaboration on continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products
• Use precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to verify product specifications
• Interpret engineering drawings, product specifications, tolerances, and sampling plans
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure products meet appearance standards
• Maintain accurate inspection records and document non-conformances
• Utilize SPC data collection systems to ensure processes remain in control
• Partner with production and quality teams on root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide flexible support to other departments as needed
• Follow all safety and quality procedures
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Ability to read and interpret quality drawings and technical documentation
• Basic understanding of measurement systems and inspection tools
• Proficiency with basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Ability to lift and carry 50–100 lbs (over 50 lbs with assistance)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Manufacturing quality experience (plastic extrusion environment a plus)
• Experience with SPC systems (InfinityQS ProFicient on Demand preferred)
• Powered Industrial Vehicle experience
• Good visual acuity
• Self-starter with strong sense of urgency
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment
• Team-oriented mindset with collaborative approach
