Founded in 1948 by John Pridgeon and Donald Clay, we are one of the largest independent, value-added manufacturers and suppliers of automotive stamped and fine-blanked components in the United States.
Objective: The Quality Floor Auditor will support the company as a quality resource via auditing in an exemplary manner according to the Company Quality Policy.
Qualified candidates will possess the following Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Nine months of prior experience inspecting automotive parts
- Exhibit proficiency with SPC Charting, FMEA's, blueprint reading, control plans, the use of micrometers, calipers, height gages, and fixtures
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Able to prove mechanical inclination, computer literacy and general math knowledge through standard tests
- Be willing to attend off-site, job-related training classes, must be willing to both train on and work on any shift, and possess an excellent work record (i.e. limited employee warnings), including attendance

Essential Functions:
Quality Planning:
- Assist operators in the use of Control Plans, Gages and part prints when needed.
- Perform line side audits verifying QA documentation for EC level, gages for EC level and certification, production inspection checks, and all items on the line side layered audit checklist.
- Verify first piece approval decisions and quality related production decisions during general audits contacting Quality Engineers as required for questions of part quality verification.
- Document audit findings on appropriate forms and reports, then file as required.
- Audit outgoing product to suppliers according to procedures and instructions.
- Support containment and tag procedure for nonconforming product and assist in material review.
- Operate CMM programs for part measurements and assist operators with floor CMM checks.
- Perform minor Fixture Gage repairs and assist with the fixture calibration function.
- Support Quality Engineers in special projects as required, i.e. capability studies, GR&R's, etc.
Continuous Improvement/Lean Principles:
- Participate in, and support lean initiatives such as continuous improvement events and problem solving events, identifying and eliminating all types of waste. Document cost savings, consolidate processes, and eliminate unnecessary operations.
- Suggest and implement ideas to increase personal and departmental efficiency.
- Anticipate problems and work to eliminate them before they happen.
- Stop production and notify Team Leader when a non-standard condition is found.
Organization/Communication/Professionalism:
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
- Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management.
- Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
- Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
- Consistently adhere to, and support, company policies and procedures, including ISO, IATF 16949, and safety regulations.
- Identify potential safety issues and take appropriate action, bringing to the attention of leadership.
