Salary Range: $50- $55/Hour on W2 Only (All inclusive) Applicant must be willing to work on W2.
 
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer with expertise in Core Java and J2EE Test Automation to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in test automation, Java programming, and a proven track record of working in fast-paced environments to deliver high-quality software products.
This is a 6-month contract position with a requirement for the candidate to be onsite in Austin, TX 5 days a week.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Test Automation Development:
    Design, implement, and execute automated test scripts for Core Java and J2EE applications to validate functionality, performance, and integration.
  • Test Frameworks:
    Develop and enhance test automation frameworks to ensure effective and efficient testing, utilizing industry standard tools and practices.
  • Collaboration with Development Teams:
    Work closely with development teams to ensure test coverage for new features, functionalities, and bug fixes.
  • Bug Tracking and Issue Reporting:
    Identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing, working with development teams to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Integration (CI) Support:
    Integrate automated tests into the CI pipeline to ensure continuous validation of code changes and maintain high code quality standards.
  • Test Documentation:
    Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports. Ensure proper documentation for test automation processes.
  • Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for process improvements in test automation, optimizing test coverage, and enhancing overall software quality.
 
Essential Skills:
  • Core Java: Strong proficiency in Core Java programming and object-oriented principles.
  • J2EE Test Automation: Experience in designing and developing automated tests for J2EE applications, including integration and functional testing.
  • Automation Frameworks: Experience in building and maintaining automated test frameworks, with a focus on Java-based tools.
  • Test Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo).
 
Desirable Skills:
  • Cloud Exposure: Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure) for deployment and integration testing.
  • Database Knowledge: Working knowledge of SQL/PLSQL to validate data and perform database testing.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile teams and an understanding of Agile testing practices.
  • Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing and tools like JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
 
Experience Required:
  • 8-10 years of professional experience in Quality Engineering with a focus on Test Automation using Core Java and J2EE applications.
