Pay Rate: $50.48 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Onsite: Columbus OH 47201
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related technical field)
3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering, preferably in the automotive industry
Strong knowledge of GD&T, AIAG Core Tools, and metrology software
Experience with IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP quality standards
Ability to perform root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to stakeholders
Role Summary
The Quality Engineer leads continuous improvement initiatives to ensure defect-free manufacturing processes. This role focuses on maintaining high-quality standards, meeting customer requirements, and driving operational improvements through technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP requirements
Support quality systems and ensure adherence to established standards
Dimensional Engineering
Perform GD&T analysis and part validation
Use PolyWorks for 3D measurement and dimensional verification
Problem Solving
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and external quality issues
Utilize structured problem-solving methods including 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa
Technical Support
Provide support in metrology, SPC, and MSA (Gage R&R) studies
Assist manufacturing teams in resolving quality-related challenges
Continuous Improvement
Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation
Support initiatives that improve manufacturing efficiency and quality performance
Collaboration & Mentorship
Work closely with manufacturing, tooling teams, and customers to manage changes and resolve nonconformities
Mentor and guide less experienced team members on quality tools and best practices
Preferred Skills
Experience with CMM programming or 3D scanning
Knowledge of 6S, welding processes, or Design of Experiments (DOE)
Experience with Minitab or advanced Excel for statistical analysis
