Job Details
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer with expertise in composite manufacturing to ensure that externally produced hulls, structures, and components meet strict quality, performance, and durability standards.
This role will focus on both open-mold and closed-mold composite processes used in marine environments and will play a key role in driving supplier performance, resolving quality issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Lead supplier qualification and onboarding efforts, ensuring alignment with quality and technical standards
Evaluate supplier capabilities in composite manufacturing processes, including hand layup, spray-up, and vacuum infusion
Conduct supplier audits, inspections, and process validations
Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions for nonconformances
Partner with suppliers to implement data-driven process improvements and ensure consistent product quality
Support root cause analysis and resolution of quality issues across the supply chain
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of components
Maintain documentation, reporting, and traceability for supplier quality activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in supplier quality, composites manufacturing, or marine production
Hands-on experience with composite processes such as hand layup, spray-up, and vacuum infusion
Experience qualifying and auditing suppliers in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of quality systems, nonconformance management, and corrective action processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and material requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with external suppliers and internal teams
