A high school degree or equivalent is preferred and must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations involving ratios and percentages in both standard and metric units. Must be able to operate and work around industrial machinery and cannot be afraid of heights or enclosed spaces. Must be able to take direction in a manufacturing environment with ever changing demands.
Duties include:
- Must be able to perform all quality control tests as required.
- Maintain record compliance within our quality control application software regarding testing frequency, parameter compliance, completeness, etc.
- Report to internal plant management team and solve problems in collaboration with team members during the day.
- Coordinate with regional and corporate quality control leaders to meet standards, complete projects, solve problems, implement new product designs, etc.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in proper working order and ensure laboratory conditions are within standards.
- Adjust manufacturing / mixing equipment settings to ensure product quality standards are met.
- Comply with all safety regulations and be responsible for housekeeping in the quality control areas of the plant.
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs. and handle products / materials as needed in the completion of daily duties.
- Work on the plant floor as required to ensure product labeling requirements are met, adjust manufacturing equipment, procure samples, organize sample retains, and other duties as assigned.
The Quikrete Companies, a leading producer of consumer packaged products is seeking a Quality Control Technician for our facility in Lakeland, FL. This quality control position will be responsible for analyzing raw materials as well as finished products such as cement, aggregates and other related dry products for our plant. This person must work closely with production personnel in order to meet our quality standards. Teamwork with other company supervisors, peers, and subordinates is a must. This is not a “white room” environment. The position requires working both in a manufacturing lab setting and on the production floor.
