Build a quality system that catches issues early and proves excellence

In this mission-driven role, you’ll lead the Quality Control organization spanning inspection and metrology—and act as the subject matter expert for inspection (non-NDT). Your mandate: engineer inspection processes that verify conformity early, deploy the right technologies, and ensure records and calibrations stand up to scrutiny.

Your impact

  • Inspection processes are tuned to verify product conformity at the earliest practical step.
  • People and equipment are allocated to deliver efficient, effective inspection operations.
  • Nonconformances are recorded thoroughly and promptly, and affected product is contained.
  • Modern inspection technologies are identified, available, and in use to streamline work.
  • Calibration activities meet industry standards and are executed efficiently to support production and inspection.
  • Final production documentation is complete, accurate, and ready for Quality Assurance processing.
  • Regulatory audits receive timely, accurate support in accordance with applicable bodies and standards.
  • Adherence to manufacturing and inspection processes is monitored continuously and corrected as needed.

What you will do

  • Scrutinize inspection methods selected during planning to improve effectiveness and eliminate redundancy or non–value-added steps.
  • Advise Quality Assurance on all things metrology.
  • Set performance controls, KPIs, and goal-tracking mechanisms for the department and your direct reports.
  • Contribute to departmental strategy and long-range vision.
  • Lead the QC team, maximizing morale and engagement.
  • Own and improve the QC training program so it’s effective and tailored to actual inspection operations.
  • Document inspector capabilities, track progression, and define training goals to close skill gaps.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of inspection philosophies and technologies to keep GTC’s capabilities aligned with the industries we serve.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10 years in quality-related roles, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Supervisory experience leading a technical function; defense-based manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success executing quality improvement projects.
