Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB TITLE – Quality Assurance Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is responsible for conducting audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of the assigned business area. This will include assisting in the development of audit tools, recommending changes in processing procedures, and assisting with administrative duties. As a member of the Quality Assurance Team, the QA Specialist will have the ability, and is expected to, drive change and positively impact the accuracy and efficiency of HealthTrust Workforce Solutions (HWS) Credentialing Department by recommending actions that address error trends and root‐causes of errors found during quality audits.

Duties:

· Understands HWS and facility specific credentialing requirements; and adhere to HWS policy and procedures, Credentialing Guide, and facility checklists / requirements

· Completes assigned audits in a timely manner

· Provides detailed feedback of findings in a manner that is easy to understand

· Follows up and responds to inquiries from the auditee and auditee leadership regarding audit work performed

· Provides timely and constructive feedback on audits to drive quality improvement

· Supports credentialing with all policy and departmental quality initiatives

· Identifies and reports error trends to Management

· Works with management in developing appropriate remediation steps to address audit findings and error trends

· Presents audit findings to team members, and utilizes data functions such as PowerPoint presentations to convey findings and recommendations.

· Trains other auditors and participates in creating job aids and other related materials for the Quality Assurance Team

· Develops subject matter expertise in areas audited and becomes a resource for the credentialing team

· Ability to meet production demands and maintain a high level of quality. This may include occasional overtime.

· Evaluates performance and makes meaningful recommendations for continuous improvement

· Delivers feedback in a positive and supportive manner

· Participates in special projects as needed

· Maintains professional growth and development through training

SUPERVISOR – Credentialing Manager

SUPERVISES –N/A

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES – This position requires the following minimal requirements:

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe

· Organized, attention to details, ability to work in multiple databases, self‐starter

EDUCATION

· High school diploma

· Associate Degree in HealthCare Administration or related field preferred

EXPERIENCE-

• 2 plus years credentialing experience preferred

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE – None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Exert up to 20 lbs force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs frequently
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a

Keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

  • Requires dexterity to type 55 wpm
  • Maintains working area and equipment in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
  • Requires prolonged sitting some walking, standing, repetitive tasks/ motions and stretching.
  • Requires clarity of vision, eye-hand-foot coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.

· Requires the perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound

· Requires normal eye sight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
