We are looking to bring on an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and maintain our Quality Management System and drive quality excellence at our East Lyme, CT facility.

The Position:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent product quality by developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). Reporting directly to the President, this role will oversee quality operations, internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100 standards.
This position plays a key leadership role in monitoring, measuring, and improving quality performance while promoting awareness of customer requirements, quality policies, and company objectives throughout the organization.

Essential Functions:
• Serve as Management Representative for the ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100 registered Quality Management System.
• Maintain and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Report to the President on the performance and effectiveness of the QMS.
• Promote awareness of customer requirements, quality policies, and quality objectives across the organization.
• Monitor and report key quality metrics including scrap reports, on-time shipping reports, and RMA reports.
• Facilitate Management Review meetings and ensure follow-up actions are implemented.
• Oversee incoming, first article, and final product inspections.
• Supervise 4 Quality Control Inspectors and 1 Quality Assurance Assistant.
• Manage control of nonconforming materials, including supplier and internal quality issues.
• Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and investigations.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits and support supplier audits when required.
• Maintain document control systems, including procedures, work instructions, and quality forms.
• Manage calibration systems and quality records.
• Serve as company contact for UL and CSA compliance and projects.
• Coordinate completion of customer quality surveys and documentation requests.
• Facilitate quality training sessions and inspector meetings.
• Support company training and continuous improvement programs including new employee orientation and cross-training initiatives.
• Implement programs that improve quality performance and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time onsite position, and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM.

About You:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or related technical field
At least 5 years of experience managing a Quality Management System in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and/or AS9100 environment
At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience
Knowledge of UL and CSA requirements and audits
Experience conducting internal audits and supplier quality audits
Strong understanding of industrial quality standards and regulatory requirements
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience working with measurement systems and tolerances
Strong computer skills, including:
• ERP systems (Sage experience preferred)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Adobe Professional Suite
Preferred qualifications:
• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
• Six Sigma certification or SPC/Minitab experience
• Experience with flex heater or flex circuit manufacturing
• Familiarity with electrical measurements and testing equipment
