PVC Pipe Fitter Installers/Plumbers
OpSource has partnered with a Renfrow Industrial located in Spartanburg, SC.  The Current Job is in Gaffney, SC.

Pay for the position:*
  • 32.00-33.00/hour
*
Shifts for the position:*
  • 700 AM to 530 PM/730 PM
  • 60-84 Hours per Week

Job requirements for the position may include:*

       
  • Must submit an applicable and current resume.
  • Prefer fitters with PVC fitting experience
  • Need to be able to run and fit and install in straight lines and possibly up high PVC Pipe 
  • Selects the type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to understand drawings.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Must be able to work the whole job which is a 7 to 8 month job.
  • Must be able to start sometime between the middle and end of March.
  • Inspects the worksite to determine the presence of obstructions.
  • Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
  • Cuts pipe using a hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer, chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
  • Thread pipe using threading machine.
  • Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machines.
  • Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold the pipe.
  • Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
  • Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
  • Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
  • Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
  • Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications for the position:*
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Trade school education or apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter or PVC Pipe Installer. (If not NCCER certified MUST pass a pipe fitter test)
  • Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain strong attention to detail.
