Our company is seeking an experienced Permanent Purchasing Specialist to join our team. This position will play a pivotal role in managing our procurement processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and fostering strong relationships with our vendors. The successful candidate will be integral in the acquisition of capital equipment, equipment parts, and will be instrumental in driving process improvement within our organization. This role demands exceptional customer service skills, as you will be a key liaison between our company and our suppliers. Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement process, from identifying potential vendors to negotiating contracts, ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Oversee the acquisition of capital equipment and equipment parts, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Continually evaluate vendor performance, ensuring they meet our company's standards and expectations.
  • Drive process improvement within the procurement department, identifying opportunities for optimization and implementing changes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast future needs and plan purchases accordingly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, acting as the primary point of contact for vendors and addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, process improvement, and the acquisition of capital equipment and equipment parts.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to secure the best value for the company.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and address issues promptly and professionally.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific procurement regulations and guidelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
