We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Purchasing Manager to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. This role is a key position within our organization, responsible for leading and managing all purchasing functions to ensure cost-effective buying decisions and the timely acquisition of materials needed for production. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in procurement, negotiation, strategic planning, budgeting, contract management, and materials management. This position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the entire purchasing department, ensuring all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Develop, implement, and manage the procurement strategy, including the selection of suppliers, tendering processes, negotiation of contracts, and performance review.
3. Prepare, review, and manage all purchasing documents and quotes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial rules and regulations.
4. Collaborate with other departments to forecast future product needs and make purchasing recommendations based on demand and market trends.
5. Manage the purchasing budget, striving to minimize costs without compromising quality or delivery times.
6. Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements, taking corrective action as necessary.
7. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage the procurement of all necessary components.
8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts to achieve the best terms and prices.
9. Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the contracts of purchase.
10. Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities, providing strategic input to the company’s plans and projections.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in preparing quotes, procurement, negotiation, strategic planning, BOM, budgeting, contract management, and materials management.
4. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence suppliers to achieve the best terms and conditions.
5. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
7. Proficient in using purchasing and planning software systems.
8. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed buying decisions.
9. Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
