Under general supervision, develops, implements, coordinates, and
evaluates public health education, promotion programs, and community
outreach activities; performs related work as assigned.

Typical Duties

Plans, develops, and presents health education and training programs and
lessons
Evaluates programs
Develops and/or revises curriculum modules as necessary
Participates in the development of marketing and promotional goals and
strategies
Refers clients to other support services such as medical evaluation and
treatment, social services, and employment services, as appropriate
Prepares and disseminates educational and informational materials
Maintains current knowledge based on specific health issues,
particularly in the area of expertise
Coordinates and collaborates with community-based organizations, public
agencies, coalitions, schools, and other appropriate facilities to
implement the health education programs
Maintains accurate records, data, and documentation of all program
results for program updating and evaluation
May assist in the coordination of activities of consultants,
subcontractors, agencies, schools, and other providers involved in
specific programs
May assist in writing grant proposals and identifying funding for
programs
May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or
volunteers performing related work
May conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with applicable laws
May participate in the recruitment of volunteers or interns
Performs related duties as assigned
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
driving; working with and around others, co-workers, clients, agencies,
etc.; working alone; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion
(hand/wrist) for computer input and driving; vision acuity (near/far);
hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; touch/finger dexterity for
computer work.
