Our client seeks a trainable individual familiar with machines and tools, their use, and maintenance, to train as a Medical Technician. In this role, you'll contribute to delivering exceptional patient care by fabricating and maintaining devices for prosthetic rehabilitation services.

Full time, direct hire
$22-24/hr
Onsite in Overland Park, KS
8a-5p, M-F

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates efficient lab workflows by proactively monitoring work and repair orders against deadlines.
  • Coordinates with third-party entities (e.g. manufacturers, distributors and repair centers) as required to avert and /or resolve workflow bottlenecks.
  • Monitors stock of lab supplies and materials and places orders as needed to maintain sufficient levels.
  • Receives lab materials, equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Cultivates key relationships with each manufacturer/supplier to maintain priority status as related to service/product and shipping.
  • Assists Prosthetics and patients in identifying potential issues with prosthetic devices.
  • Creates castings and takes impressions at direction of Clinical Director/Manager.
  • Plans and develops fabrication work orders and prosthetic devices based on each patient’s unique requirements.
  • Fulfills fabrication work orders in collaboration with other members of the technical team as appropriate.
  • Designs components for fabrication as needed.
  • Fabricates preparatory and definitive prostheses for patients.
  • Creates aesthetically pleasing laminations and finishes on prostheses.
  • Processes, evaluates and repairs/adjusts broken, ill-fitting and malfunctioning prosthetic devices.
  • Collaborates with Prosthetics and Therapists on the provision of patient care and to develop integrated solutions that help patients reach their personal goals.
     
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years’ experience with most basic hand and power tools, some familiarity with complex machinery and maintaining equipment
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, be able to move his/her hands quickly, and be able to grasp and assemble objects with 2 hands
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to complete assignments under limited supervision within short time frames
  • Team player with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize assigned tasks
  • Must demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks and information quickly, as well as be able to multi-task
