Senior Property Accountant - Boutique Real Estate Firm in Boston 

Our client, a boutique, family-owned commercial real estate firm known for its hands-on approach and high-impact work, is looking to add a Senior Property Accountant to their team.

The role involves managing journal entries, month-end close, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, and depreciation, along with leasing commissions, prepaids, deferred assets/liabilities, and financing fees. There’s also exposure to more complex accounting items like mark-to-market adjustments, swaps, and deferred tax assets/liabilities.

Requirements: 

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting; property-level accounting experience required.

• Proficiency with MRI Software and fixed asset systems (Sage or equivalent).

• Strong understanding of deferred leasing commissions, deferred financing fees, and complex journal entries.

• Demonstrated ability to reconcile, track, and report on complex accounting transactions.

• Self-starter with high attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with property management and corporate teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle a full spectrum of accounting responsibilities from routine to complex.

$90K - $120K base salary dependent on experience.
