Job Summary
The Project Manager will serve as the Business PM for a highly complex Learning Management System (LMS) migration and implementation initiative. This role requires extensive stakeholder management, program oversight of technical delivery teams and external vendors, and hands-on management of internal business workstreams. The initiative will significantly impact internal teams and external advisors, requiring strong leadership within a matrixed financial services organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Business Project Manager for the overall LMS initiative
- Partner with Project Sponsors and Functional Managers to develop project charters, RACI/resource grids, and milestone plans
- Plan, execute, monitor, and control internal business workstreams, including scope, schedule, cost, and resources
- Manage day-to-day execution and project health reporting
- Partner with Technology PMs, delivery teams, and external suppliers to manage an integrated program plan
- Drive accountability across workstreams using estimates, work plans, and resource plans
- Identify project risks early, escalate issues, and drive resolution
- Recommend strategies, actions, and alternatives to support informed business decisions
- Proactively communicate schedule, cost, benefit, or scope changes and manage approved change controls
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Required Skills & Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of project management experience
- 7+ years using project management tools such as MS Project, MS Planner, and Jira
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage highly complex, cross-functional initiatives
Preferred / Ideal Qualifications
- Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) implementations, migrations, or consolidations
- 10+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years within a PMO
- 8+ years leading projects within insurance and/or wealth management environments
- PMP certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated success delivering long-term projects on time, within budget, and to scope
- Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies
