Project Manager
The Project Manager serves as the local point of contact for Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) under the AIS Technology Consulting Services contract. This individual is responsible for overseeing project delivery, coordinating multi-category work orders, managing client relationships, and ensuring that all assigned resources deliver services in accordance with contractual requirements, PRT policies, and performance standards.
The role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong client communication, and a proven ability to lead teams supporting a diverse IT portfolio, including Business Applications, Business Analytics, Infrastructure, and Temporary IT Staffing.
Location: Onsite (Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship & Coordination
- Act as the on-site representative and day-to-day liaison between PRT and the contractor's corporate team.
- Facilitate kick-off meetings, work order reviews, and status updates with PRT stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between PRT's priorities and the contractor's project execution.
- Project Delivery Management
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all work orders.
- Monitor progress, deliverables, and budget adherence; prepare regular status and performance reports.
- Manage resource allocation among prime and subcontractor staff to ensure balanced workloads.
- Work Order & Resource Administration
- Coordinate with PRT's technical leads and department managers to define project scopes and timelines.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding of project resources and ensure compliance with background and security requirements.
- Support the recruitment and assignment of temporary IT consultants as required.
- Quality Assurance & Risk Management
- Ensure deliverables meet contractual standards and PRT's quality expectations.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans proactively.
- Facilitate post-project reviews and continuous improvement actions.
- Reporting & Governance
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, and documentation required by PRT.
- Participate in governance meetings, steering committees, and performance reviews as the contractor's representative.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Residency or active presence within Allegheny County.
- 8+ years of IT project management experience.
- Proven success managing multi-category technology projects (applications, data analytics, and infrastructure).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
- Exceptional client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Power BI, SharePoint, Jira, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or ITIL certification.
- Experience with state, county, or municipal government contracts.
