Kforce's client in Chicago, IL is seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager III to lead an observability agent upgrade and associated global configuration workstreams across cloud and on-prem environments. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional stakeholders (application owners, platform teams, and third-party technology partners), driving production readiness, and operationalizing a repeatable, low-risk cadence for future platform upgrades and global configuration changes. Duties:
  • Independently run the observability agent upgrade: phased rollout, automated and manual validation, issue triage, rollback execution, and remediation
  • Lead global configuration delivery: sequence changes by environment, define release windows, validate minimal production impact, and establish enterprise standards for configuration management
  • Maintain delivery artifacts: project plans, RAID logs, dependency trackers, decision logs, runbooks, and executive reporting
  • Communicate with application teams, platform engineering, operations, and executive stakeholders; prepare concise SteerCo-ready materials and surface risks early
  • Deliver operational handoff: validated runbooks, acceptance criteria, automation or configuration-as-code where applicable, and a repeatable cadence for future upgrades
  • Tracking & reporting (critical): own project-level reporting including weekly integrated status, operational readiness dashboards, RAID and dependency tracking, and daily status during change windows, plus 24-hour post-change validation reports

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of technical project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise platform or monitoring/observability upgrades
  • Proven delivery across Linux, Windows, and Kubernetes environments
  • Strong experience with production change and release management (patch cycles, planned restarts, controlled change windows)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
