Job Details
This role leads all engineering activities for high-voltage transmission projects from early design through construction and closeout. You will provide technical oversight, guide external engineering partners, and collaborate closely with operations, field teams, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and at the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering execution across all phases of transmission projects.
- Oversee external engineering firms, set expectations, and review technical deliverables.
- Maintain engineering standards, documentation processes, and quality controls.
- Forecast staffing needs, manage resourcing plans, and mentor engineering staff.
- Support proposals, customer meetings, estimating, and project planning.
- Drive process improvements and integrate new engineering technologies.
- Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current on industry codes, standards, and emerging best practices.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering or engineering management experience in utility or high-voltage infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; PE preferred.
- Background in civil, structural, or electrical engineering with strong utility standards knowledge.
- Experience leading engineering teams and complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Working knowledge of scheduling, contracts, estimating, and project controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
