This Event Project Manager will support the logistical execution of the grand opening and executive ribbon-cutting event for a new building at a pharmaceutical client site. The role is focused on operational delivery, translating approved direction, timelines, and decisions into coordinated, on-the-ground execution. Strategic direction, messaging, and program intent are led by internal stakeholders, including R&D Communications; this role ensures logistical readiness and successful delivery.
The Event Project Manager will manage execution timelines and logistical workstreams tied to the building grand opening, coordinating Compass teams and vendor partners to support event-day readiness. Using strong project and event management skills, the role requires building and maintaining an execution-focused project plan, sequencing tasks appropriately, tracking deliverables and dependencies, and ensuring all logistics align with approved plans, schedules, and governance.
This role will lead execution check-ins, prepare status updates, document action items, and escalate risks or blockers that could impact the delivery of the grand opening event. The Project Manager is responsible for identifying logistical risks, recommending mitigation options, and tracking issues through resolution, while partnering with internal owners to confirm approvals and final readiness.
This contractor role requires proven experience in event operations and project execution, comfort working within a defined governance structure, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, executive-facing environment. Success is measured by seamless logistics, disciplined execution, controlled risk, and a polished grand opening event that meets leadership and brand expectations.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors
Preferred Experience:
5 years minimum experience
CMP: Certified Meeting Professional
PMP: Project Management Professional
CMM: Certified in Meeting Management
Showing leadership and initiative skills
Experience dealing with event budgets
