We are seeking a Project Manager with a true self-perform background in commercial interior systems — specifically metal stud framing, drywall, and related scopes. This role is built for someone who has come up through the trades and understands how work actually gets built in the field.
This is not a coordination-only role. You will be responsible for managing labor-driven projects, leading internal crews, and driving execution based on production, sequencing, and real-time field performance.
What You’ll Own
- Manage commercial interior construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a focus on self-perform drywall and framing scopes
- Build and manage labor-driven budgets based on install rates, crew output, and production sequencing
- Direct internal field crews (20–100+ workers), ensuring productivity, quality, and schedule adherence
- Develop and execute project schedules tied to framing board finish sequencing, not just milestone tracking
- Track labor performance daily, adjusting manpower and approach to maintain cost and schedule targets
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and field operations to support continuous workflow and jobsite efficiency
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and alignment with field execution
- Identify and resolve field issues early to prevent delays and cost overruns
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external partners while retaining ownership of execution
Requirements
- Direct experience working for a drywall, framing, or interior systems subcontractor
- Proven history of managing self-perform crews, not just subcontractors
- Strong understanding of production-based construction (SF/LF output, crew sizing, install rates)
- Experience building or managing labor-driven budgets, not just reviewing subcontractor bids
- Ability to confidently speak to field production, sequencing, and execution strategy
- Experience on commercial projects (TI, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or similar)
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
Preferred
- Background progressing from foreman/superintendent into project management
- Experience managing $2M+ self-perform scopes
- Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar
Benefits
- Fast, decisive hiring process — typically a single interview, with offers extended quickly to the right candidate
- A seat on a team that works with the most respected GCs in the Western U.S. on projects that actually require craft, not just coordination
