Our client in the Energy industry is seeking a Consultant for a 2+ year initiative. The Project Manager - Capital Projects is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, and closeout of intermediate to large-scale capital renewable energy projects. This role applies formal project management methodologies to deliver complex solar, wind, and energy storage projects safely, on time, and within budget.
The position serves as the primary point of accountability for project scope, cost, schedule, risk, and stakeholder coordination while working closely with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies. In addition to managing projects, the role may mentor and train associate-level project managers, engineers, and co-op students. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility.

Pay Range: $60-70/hr

 

What’s the Job?

  • Develops renewable energy project scope and leads cross-functional teams in preparing project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering specifications for capital projects.
  • Oversees all phases of project delivery including engineering, design, procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Applies formal project management practices to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk objectives.
  • Supports daily on-site construction activities in collaboration with contractors, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manages project expenditures and ensures cost-effective procurement of labor, equipment, and materials.

 

What’s Needed?

  • Minimum 6 years of project management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of large-scale construction experience
  • Utility or utility-scale project experience
  • Minimum 6 months of renewable energy project management experience (wind, solar, and/or energy storage)
  • 3+ years of energy storage project experience
