We are seeking a proactive and organized Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our Project Management teams. This position will provide valuable exposure to the construction industry and allow you to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, and eager to work alongside experienced industry professionals.
  
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Task Support: Complete various tasks assigned by the Project Management teams, including but not limited to creating spreadsheets, maintaining job books, preparing submittals, etc.
  • Document Management: Responsible for filing, copying, compiling documents, and ensuring proper organization of project files on company networks.
  • Meetings & Communication: Attend Pre Bid and jobsite meetings, assisting in gathering information and reporting key insights.
  • Industry Engagement: Participate in industry and community events such as ASHRAE and Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) and other relevant forums to expand your professional network and industry knowledge.
  • Engineering Documentation: Assist in preparing engineering reports, drawings, and other project-related documentation.
  • Office Tools: Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel) to effectively organize and maintain project-related information.
  • Professional Interaction: Interface with construction industry professionals, demonstrating professionalism and building credibility with external stakeholders.
  • Research & Analysis: Support the engineering team with research, data analysis, and technical tasks as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and helping with problem-solving efforts.
Qualifications: 
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and credibility when working with construction industry professionals.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and attend industry events.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Drug test and background check are pre-employment requirements.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
