About this Role

FiberTel is hiring a Project Controller for our Sacramento, CA location.

The Project Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and performance of the organization’s projects. This position partners closely with Project Managers, Directors, and cross-functional teams to oversee all financial aspects of active and planned projects. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive—someone who can translate financial data into meaningful insights that support decision‑making and drive successful project outcomes.

Pay: $85k-110k/yr, DOE

What You'll Do

Responsibilities: 

  • Support most aspects of accounting management 
  • Develop, maintain, and refine project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

  • Collaborate with managers and directors to establish financial baselines and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn and work in other software, like corporate systems and Foundation
  • Will prepare financial reports associated with project controls 
  • Manage journal entries and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing 
  • Participate in preparation for audits 
  • Help in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies 
  • Prepare, examine, and/or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports. 

What You'll Bring

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years Construction/Finance experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Construction, Business or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.) 
  • Proficiency with financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.  

  • Experience working in an environment that involves multiple projects 
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

This job operates in both office and field environments with occasional exposure to noise and other hazards. This job routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasionally spend time outside the office when meeting clients or need to check on vehicles.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $85,000.00/Yr. - USD $110,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
