The Project Controller III (Life Sciences) position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Philadelphia area team located out of Conshohocken, PA.  Together we are sharing knowledge, learning, growing, and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group’s ongoing expansion in the US.  Our office is executing cutting-edge projects for Pharmaceutical, Biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy, manufacturing facilities – from feasibility through to qualification – for both local and international clients.  Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.

 

We are looking for a Project Controller who enjoys client interaction as well as the technical aspects of the position.  This individual is responsible for effectively and proactively establishing, maintaining, and reporting on cost controls, both internal and external to monitor performance, risk management, and assisting internal business planning.  Expect project work to include all levels of design: feasibility studies, conceptual & schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry projects doing both existing building improvements and new construction. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.

:
  • Develop and manage cost breakdowns (WBS), track key performance indicators, and analyze project data - including labor hours and earned value – to evaluate productivity and identify potential risks
  • Update and maintain project controls and document management systems, ensuring proper filing and adherence to established project procedures
  • Maintain and enhance project control tools and document management processes to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Prepare regular project control reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) detailing cost, progress, risk, and quality metrics
  • Produce detailed cost reports, including budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis, under the guidance of Sr. Project Services team members
  • Monitor project progress, identify cost variances, and recommend corrective actions or recovery strategies
  • Design custom templates and tools to support cost reporting as needed
  • Prepare materials and supporting documentation for internal and external meetings to aid project updates and decision-making
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall project controls functions
:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project controls or a closely related discipline
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills for building and maintaining interactive spreadsheets and databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, clients, and vendors at various organizational levels
  • Solid understanding of cost engineering, progress tracking, and project control methodologies, particularly within the Life Sciences industry
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting systems used in project environments
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a project controls team
