Project Assistant

Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA

City Light & Power (CLP) has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the US, with financing, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance for electrical transmission and distribution systems, as well as outdoor street, sport, and other recreational lighting.

We are growing our team at JBLM and seeking a Project Assistant to join us. The Project Assistant responsibilities include the administrative coordination and assistance with the completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. The Project Assistant will assist with all aspects of projects including monitor and summarize progress of project to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Outage coordination requests
Dig permit marking and requests
Pole knockdown tracking and follow up
Coordinate project team personnel and resources
Enhance and maintain relationships with clients, designers, and consultants
Assist with updating reports regarding financial performance of the project
Attend project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award
Follow site logistics plans, in coordination with the Project Manager or Installation Manager
Assist with creation of trade contracts and bid packages, as well as oversee procurement process
Assist with monitoring cost control and change management systems
Assist in setting-up QA/QC procedures and conduct quality inspections
Assist with communication and enforcement of corporate Safety and Health Management Program
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

3-5 years of administrative project management experience required (construction or utility experience preferred)
Experience with CLP may be substituted for project management experience.

Ability to understanding blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to view time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services.
Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products.
Ability to follow construction schedules in Microsoft Project or similar program preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Previous experience with federal government contracting or federal construction activities is a plus.
Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communications skills.
Must be a team player and able to work with various partners from start to finish.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at a time.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

You must be a US Citizen
You will be required to obtain Military Base Security Access Clearance

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly pay range: $25.00 - $30.00 depending on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
