Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, highly preferred.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in project accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), invoicing and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint or Vision ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with project teams and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Industry experience related to engineering design and government contracting, preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check is required.
Expectations
• Manages and maintains project budgets, including forecasting labor and material costs.
• Reviews, approves and processes supplier invoices, contractor payments and overhead charges.
• Prepares and issues invoices to clients and ensures timely collection of payments.
• Works with project managers to ensure employee utilization is maximized.
• Monitors project financial performance by analyzing variances, cost overruns and revenue recognition.
• Collaborates with project managers to provide timely financial reports and forecasts.
• Handles month-end and quarter-end accounting activities including reconciliations and accruals.
• Maintains project-related records such as contracts, change orders and billing arrangements.
• Assists in audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
• Ensures adherence to company accounting policies and external compliance requirements.
• Supports project accounting software setup and data management.
• Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
