Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Accountant to join our thriving team in the Construction industry. This role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about managing financial aspects of construction projects, from budgeting to financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our financial team, providing crucial support in managing our project's financial health to ensure profitability and continued growth. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial aspects of our construction projects, including budgeting, cost accounting, and billing.
2. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, highlighting project performance and forecasts.
3. Work closely with project managers to develop budgets, analyze profitability, and track expenses.
4. Ensure accurate and timely billing of projects, including tracking and processing of invoices and payments.
5. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage project costs effectively.
6. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure project financial management is in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Conduct regular financial audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
8. Provide financial advice and guidance to project teams to aid in decision making.
9. Monitor and control project capital expenditure against budget.
10. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless integration of project accounting activities with overall company financial operations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and procedures.
4. Proficient in budgeting, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
5. Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in MS Excel.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
9. Proven ability to work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
11. Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
