Project Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Accountant Construction Analyst to provide oversight and support for field accounting operations on construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial controls, effective materials management coordination, and strong support for construction teams assigned to temporary project locations.

The Project Accountant Construction Analyst will work closely with internal business partners and field personnel, including contract field accountants, to resolve complex accounting and operational challenges. Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, deep construction accounting expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects in fast‑paced field environments.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate field construction accounting and selected materials management activities across multiple construction projects

Support, mentor, and evaluate field construction accountants and material specialists

Track and manage invoicing related to third‑party and contract personnel

Administer temporary construction offices, including office equipment and setup coordination

Generate and analyze project‑level financial and operational reports

Collaborate with business partners to validate project material receipts and perform reconciliations

Perform construction project closeouts in accordance with established accounting and compliance standards

Ensure safety remains a top priority in all administrative and field‑related activities

Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and business needs

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Construction Management, or General Studies

Minimum of 8 years of experience in administrative, accounting, or invoicing roles, preferably within construction or project‑based environments

Demonstrated expertise in construction accounting and field‑based financial operations

Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting field accounting teams on large or complex construction projects

Working knowledge of construction and accounting systems such as Oracle, Powerplant, and Procore
