Are you a seasoned Project Accountant with a passion for numbers and a keen eye for detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are a leading construction company searching for a dynamic Project Accountant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position that will allow you to utilize your financial skills and expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
As our Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our construction projects. Your duties will include:
1. Managing all project-related accounts, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.
2. Performing detailed financial analysis to determine project profitability, revenue, and cost.
3. Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining comprehensive project financial statements and reports.
4. Conducting regular account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
5. Reviewing and approving supplier invoices related to a project.
6. Assisting in project budget preparation and financial planning.
7. Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
8. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure all financial aspects of the project are on track.
9. Identifying and resolving project billing issues and discrepancies.
10. Providing guidance on financial matters to project managers and other team members.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Solid understanding of financial reporting and cost accounting principles.
4. Proficiency in financial software and databases, along with MS Office Suite.
5. Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial team members.
7. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
9. Knowledge of construction industry regulations and compliance requirements.
10. Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
